Step 1: Swipe for Success
The best way to make sure you’re prepared for your upcoming trip is to download the aplicación de Amtrak. You can easily modify your reservation, show your ticket to the conductor, see your real-time train status and more from your pocket.
Step 2: Get to the Station
First things first. Since there's no need to check in, we recommend arriving at the station 30 minutes before departure. Usted decide cómo llegar, puede hacerlo en el transporte público, compartir el viaje o alguien puede acercarlo a la estación. Si conduce hasta la estación, también puede pagar el estacionamiento por adelantado en muchas de nuestras estaciones.
Step 3: Board the Train
Our boarding process is easy but never hesitate to ask a staff member for help.
Step 4: It’s Totally Up to You
Read a book, get work or studying done with our complimentary Wi-Fi, listen to music, take a nap (what the Quiet Car was made for) or dramatically look out the window. Feel free to bring your own food or head to the Cafetería o Comedor cars to purchase snacks, meals and beverages.
Step 5: You've Arrived
Our major stations let you off right in the heart of downtown (talk about convenience). If that's where your destination is, all doors will open upon arrival. Walk onto the platform and out of the station and then ... the possibilities are endless. Start exploring on foot, hop on a bike, take public transportation or wait for pick-up by taxi, rideshare or family and friends.
If your destination is at a smaller station, the conductor will make an announcement about where to leave the train. You may have to move to a particular car where doors will open. When in doubt, just ask a conductor. Make sure you pack up your belongings and are ready to depart when the train arrives at your stop.
